Adrian’s Fishing Reports
The ice is 13 1/2 to 17 inches. We will still only be allowing 1/2 ton trucks not pulling wheel houses for this weekend. You can pull wheel houses up to 17 feet behind mid size suvs and up to 21 feet with a 4 wheeler or utv. The road goes out 3 miles from pine island as of right now. I will let you know when the size of vehicles goes up. Good luck fishing.
Merry Christmas. We will be letting up to 1/2 ton trucks not pulling wheel houses drive out starting the day after Christmas. We have 14 to 15 inches of ice in the bay and 12 to 15 inches on the lake. I do not know when the road will open on Monday. We have a storm coming through. We will have to see how bad it is. We will not be plowing out there in the middle of a blizzard. We will get the road open as soon as we can. It does not do any good to plow if it fills in behind you. Please have patience and plan accordingly.
In the bay today we had 13 inches of ice. Out in the lake we had 10 3/4 inches to 14 inches of ice. We are now letting mid size suv’s, mini vans and cars not pulling wheel houses. No 1/2 ton trucks yet. We are letting 4 wheelers and utv’s pull out wheel houses up to 17 feet long. The road is marked for 1.5 miles past pine island. Good luck fishing.
In the bay we have 11 inches of ice. Out in the lake we have 9 1/2 to 11 inches. We are letting out snowmobiles and 4 wheelers. We have fish houses out and the resorts are driving the small jeeps out. after the weekend we will probably let people drive small and mid size vehicles out. not 1/2 ton trucks yet.
The road goes out 11.7 miles past pine island. The road is in good condition. We are going to let 3/4 and 1 ton trucks pulling up to a 21 ft wheel house now and 1/2 ton trucks pulling up to 24 ft wheel houses.
We are going to let 1/2 ton trucks pulling up to 21 ft wheel houses starting tomorrow. 3/4 ton trucks can drive out not pulling wheel houses. The road still goes out about 6 1/2 miles past pine island, Our road is marked with orange plastic highway construction markers. There is 15 to 18 inches of ice in the lake around where our road goes. I do not know what is way to the east or west of our road. I have heard some reports of less ice in other areas.
We are now letting 1/2 ton trucks drive out not pulling wheel houses. The road goes out 6 miles past pine island. I will check the ice tomorrow and give you another report and what we will be allowing out for the weekend,
Yesterday in the bay we had 9 1/2 to 10 1/2 inches of ice along side the trail. The lake is more like 11 to 14 inches of ice. I did not check the lake much because we have to drive across the bay to get to the lake. We are allowing small to mid size vehicles to drive out not pulling wheel houses. We are allowing wheel houses up to 16 feet long to be pulled out behind atvs or utvs. No full size vehicle!
We have not been making ice very fast. Today in the bay there was 7 3/4 to 9 inches of ice. In the lake there was 9 3/4 to 11 3/4 inches of ice. We have cold weather moving in tonight so we should start making some ice a little faster. With the cool down we will get some cracks on the trails so be careful out there the next two days. After that I will check the ice again and decide if we will start letting some wheel houses go out behind atvs. Hopefully we will be able to but no guarantees.
